Language Anxiety Among English Foreign Language Learners

The purpose of this study was to find out how much language anxiety EFL university students have, what causes it, and they deal with it. This aims fill a gap in the literature regarding anxiety, causes, people cope as most researchers have not yet combined those three factors into single study. current used mixed method,a questionnaire semi-structured interview were used. FLCAS collect quantitative data. At same time, questionnaires interviews select qualitative method. included 40 male female from Faculty Business Social Sciences at one Jakarta’s private universities. Their ages range 18 25 years. In study, items revealed two levels anxiety: 1) low (62%) 2) moderate (38%). Three identified using combination interviews: Inadequate confidence speaking English class; Fear making mistakes when English; 3) Lack vocabulary/grammar knowledge.
